Runners, walkers, sponsors and spectators alike descended on the Maryland Zoo at Baltimore April 28th for the annual Brigance Brigade ALS Awareness Event and Fight For A Cure.
Four Bri-Bet Security Solutions guards donated their time providing VIP and route security for the 5.7k run and 1.5 mile walk. “This by far is one of the more enjoyable events we support every year. It’s a pleasure aligning our corporate commitment to community goals with O.J. and Chanda Brigance,” said CEO Brian Kunkel.
O.J. Brigance played professional football in the National Football League (Baltimore Ravens) and the Canadian Football league (Baltimore Stallions). He is currently the Senior Advisor for Player Development for the Baltimore Ravens. He was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in 2007 and established the “Brigance Brigade Foundation” along with his wife Chanda.
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive nervous system disease for which there is no cure. OJ Brigance maintained his warrior stature carrying his on-field football battles into off-field charity work where he established his foundation shortly after being diagnosed.
Community leaders, current and retired professional athletes and even some team mascots support the Brigance Brigade Foundation endeavors annually.
