Observe and report, long held as the primary thrust behind the role of a security guard, is getting enhanced as Maryland is requiring additional training for all licensed security guards.
Earlier this year, the State of Maryland mandated additional training and certification for current and future security guards in compliance with COMAR (Code of Maryland) standards as approved by the Maryland State Police Training and Standards Division.
Shortly after the new requirements were mandated, Bri-Bet trainers designed a curriculum to chart a path for compliance for Bri-Bet employees. That same training is now available to all security guards in Maryland. Failure to obtain certification could potentially disqualify individuals and security companies from many business opportunities in the state.
The “Guard Card” represents a license granted and renewed by the State of Maryland for security guards. This card acts as the official license to perform security guard services with the standards as established the state of Maryland. It is the diploma, onion skin and license confirmed by the state that an individual has received annual, initial and proficiency training recognizing fit-for-duty credentialed and certified training. This card must also be carried by all individuals working as security guards.
Our course offerings include 14-hour preliminary training and 10-hour refresher training. Professional, certified trainers provide instruction covering nearly two dozen topics, course objectives and learning goals.
