Mel Adam

Sergeant Mel Adam is a 21 year veteran of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police (NRP). His military experience spans fifteen years, serving as a Scout Sniper in both the United States Marine Corps and the Army National Guard. He is the co-founder of the Tactical Response Team (TRT) and is currently the Team Leader. Sgt. Adam has extensive knowledge in the disciplines of Active Shooter Response, Woodland Tactical Operations, Maritime Tactical Operations and Search and Rescue Management. Mel has planned, coordinated and conducted countless tactical operations during his tenure. He has also instructed both Military and Law Enforcement in Special Operations for over a decade throughout the United States. Currently, he is the Training Chairman for the Maritime Tactical Operations Group (MTOG), which is comprised of 20 Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies.

Brent Trautman

Brent Trautman is currently a Corporal assigned to the Special Operations Division with his department. He has over 17 years of state level law enforcement experience, 15 years as a state certified police instructor and is currently a certified firearms instructor. Cpl. Trautman is the co-founder of his department’s Tactical Response Team (TRT) and currently serves as the assistant team leader. His responsibilities include; coordinating and developing training of new and operational members, researching equipment, and planning and execution of a variety of tactical missions. His specialties include woodland tactical operations, visual tracking, maritime tactical operations and search and rescue.

During his tenure with his department, Cpl. Trautman and his Sergeant have been responsible for developing and implementing tactically based training for all officers in their department which has increased officer safety and created a more realistic training environment. He was also a key developer of the agency’s active shooter program. When tasked by command staff to standardize the agencies ASR he attended numerous active shooter trainings and researched the most current and best practices. Cpl Trautman is one of the lead Active Shooter Instructors for his agency and has instructed a number of allied agencies and civilians in responding to an active shooter threat. In addition to active shooter training, Cpl Trautman is an accomplished instructor who has taught both patrol and senior tactical operators from around the country in a variety of specialized tactical operations.

Junior Johnson

James “Junior” Johnson possesses over 14 years of law enforcement experience and is a Corporal with the Maryland Natural Resources Police.  As a Corporal, Mr. Johnson serves as the Entry Level Coordinator for the Maryland Natural Resources’ Police Academy.  He is responsible for ensuring all requirements are met by recruits to satisfy the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission.

Mr. Johnson is a Tactical Boat Operator for the agency’s Tactical Response Team and also serves as a Firearms Instructor , Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC) In structor and Boat Operations Instructor during In-Service Training and Recruit Training.

Reliable CPR & Safety (RCPRS) is owned and operated by Bill Maddox, Jr. He serves as the center director and lead instructor and has been teaching CPR and First Aid for over 7 years and proudly taught and certified 345 people in 2012, but has over 25 years of teaching experience in the arts and education field holding both a Bachelors and Masters degree. Mr. Maddox is a former MD certified EMT and First Responder and is currently certified as a Health Safety Institute (ASHI) Instructor/Trainer and Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) Instructor. Mr. Maddox brings with him 16 years in the Security field and 21 years of experience with Baltimore County Auxiliary Police Team where he currently serves as an Area Lieutenant, Field Training Officer and an Academy Instructor. As an Academy Instructor, Mr. Maddox teaches CPR PRO, First Aid, Calls for Service and Report Writing to Auxiliary Police Recruits. He is also certified to teach Instructor Training for CPR & First Aid. Mr. Maddox’s real life EMS and Law Enforcement experience coupled with his high school and community college teaching experience, make Mr. Maddox’s classes educational, fun and entertaining!

All programs are nationally recognized, and taught by American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) and Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) certified instructors who have many years of practical EMS & safety experience as well as teaching experience.

Joel Holdford

Joel Holdford began his career with the US Army serving for 5 years as an Infantry Soldier and deploying to Operation Desert Storm. Shortly after returning he began his career as a DA Civilian and has been a member of a US ARMY Special Reaction Team (SWAT) for 19 years. Mr. Holdford has commanded the Special Reaction Team for Aberdeen proving Ground, MD for the Past 7 years.

During the last 19 years, Mr. Holdford has attended numerous SWAT schools and training sessions. Mr. Holdford is a certified Active Shooter Instructor thru A.L.E.R.T University of Texas and has taught over one hundred police officers in Active Shooter response. After the FT Hood tragedy Mr. Holdford realized the need to educate the public on how to react to an active shooter. As a result, he developed a dynamic Active Shooter program and began teaching classes. Mr. Holdford has trained over 6000 students over the last several years and received the Governors Certificate for Crime Prevention in 2010 for his efforts.

Mr. Holdford is considered the Subject Matter Expert for all active shooter training on Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and is a highly sought after speaker, receiving numerous request for his training per year.

Art Rosati

Art Rosati

Mr. Rosati brings to Bri-Bet Tactical Training, approximately 25 years of civilian and military law enforcement experience. Mr. Rosati spent 6 years working in the Criminal Investigations Division as a Narcotics Agent with the State of Florida Drug Task Force and approximately 10 years with the Florida Department of Corrections as a Training Instructor/Supervisor.

Mr. Rosati has been part of the adjunct staff at two (2) colleges as a Criminal Justice Academy Instructor teaching general subjects and high liability areas. Mr. Rosati spent approximately 20(+) years experience in the United States Army (active & reserve) as a Military Policeman with promotions to Investigator, Physical Security Inspector and Crime Prevention Officer. He served in various areas of responsibility including:: Officer in Charge of background and criminal investigations, Unit Drug and Alcohol Control Program Officer, Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Operational Security (OPSEC) Officer, Key Control Officer, Computer Security (COMPUSEC) Officer, Reproduction of Classified Document Custodian, Diplomatic/Dignitary Security, Physical Security Inspector (NCOIC) on Command Inspection Program (CIP) Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Level 2 Instructor.

Tony Maddox

Tony Maddox

Mr. Maddox is employed by a large Mid-Atlantic Police Department where he is currently assigned to the Police Department’s Training Division as a Firearms Instructor.  For the past twenty-seven years, Mr. Maddox has served as a Police Officer, Detective, School Officer and Instructor.  Mr. Maddox has maintained certifications for the past twelve years, both as a classroom and firearms instructor allowing him to teach all classroom topics including firearms.  He is currently certified as an Instructor on various weapons some of which include pistol, shotgun, patrol rifle and Taser.

The instruction and training is provided to all levels of law enforcement including Recruits, In-Service Officers and Officers from other jurisdictions.  Mr. Maddox also serves as the department’s Taser Program Coordinator and is responsible for the training and re-certification of every Taser operator within the department.  He is a veteran in the field of Emergency Medicine with over twenty-nine years’ experience as a certified Emergency Medical Technician.

Mr. Maddox serves as the Police Pistol Range EMT/ Medical Safety Officer where he is responsible for the care and treatment of all injured subjects while at the facility as well as care and maintenance of all first aid supplies, including in-house AED units.  He also serves as one of the evaluators for the department’s practical portion of CPR and First Aid Re-Certification.  Mr. Maddox is a past recipient of the prestigious Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission “Instructor of the Year” award.

Other teaching accomplishments Mr. Maddox has received includes developing, writing and presenting classroom instruction on the following topics: “Responding to Medical Emergencies “, “Police Response to People in Crisis” and Signs and Symptoms of “Excited Delirium.”

Mr. Maddox brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom as well as practical experience to all the classes he offers.  Students will leave his class feeling confident in the skills and abilities necessary to perform in any emergency situation.

Pulse-Tech’s staff offers on site training which allows us to come to your home, office or organization or training at one of Bri-Bet Tactical Training locations. Pulse-Tech provides all of the necessary equipment to train you or your employees in whatever course you have requested. If utilizing your facility, Pulse-Tech’s staff will need a room or area with seating large enough for the amount of people you have attending the course. Each course can be specifically tailored to meet your individual needs and we can accommodate your morning, daytime, evening or weekend schedules. Pulse-Tech will not invite others to your course. The courses you schedule may have a minimum or maximum number of people but that is controlled by you. All that is required is an exact number of people attending so the appropriate amount of equipment and instructors will be provided. All of which will ensure your training is a success.
